You have an option to meet with Royce and offer to pay him with your own Eddies, if you have collected that amount already. She will offer to give you a chip that supposedly contains 10,000 Eddies. You will need this bot for the next main job later on.ĭid you know that in an earlier version of the game, before it launched, you were able to use this bot as a companion to follow and assist you in combat if you spec into Tech? Choices you have to make during The Pickup main jobīefore you get to the All Foods factory, you have an option to talk to a Militech Corpo agent called Meredith Stout, who you can romance by the way. This is kind of their base of operations.ĭex, your fixer, has sent you there to obtain a robot called Flathead model MT0D12 from MIlitech. The mission tasks you to go meet with the Maelstrom gang at the abandoned All Foods factory located in Northside. Note that to get to the reason for this guide, you will need to go for the “fight against all Maelstromers in the factory” option, as I will state again and again in this guide. You can strive for a peaceful resolution or a violent one. You do, however, have a wide variety of options when it comes to how you want to approach this job. You cannot avoid this mission as it’s part of the main story progression of your character. During it, you have to enter the All Foods factory and deal with the Maelstrom gang members and their new leader Royse. One of the early main story jobs (missions) you get is called “The Pickup”. This guide is up-to-date for Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.02 Even the Nomads with their "don't ask what you're smuggling" ethos. This guide will show you how to complete the optional objective to find a way to free Brick during the main story mission “The Pickup” in the All Foods Factory in Cyberpunk 2077! Hell, Jackie even says it outright, that Maelstrom isn't like most old-school gangs.īut most of the gangs have stuff going on that's kind of vile, from Tyger Claw to Maelstrom. I mean, Brick is one of the few Maelstrom members who actually had a gang-like structure to his crew, and he got his ass kicked by Royce by means of brawn overpowering brains. Killing them is a blessing to the world, not pointless.Īnd Maelstrom strikes me as a gang that's about as much a gang as Scavs - that is, it isn't really a gang so much as a vaguely chaotic ethos, and a lot of the people ascribing to that ethos are the kind of people who think it's hilarious to maim people for fun, or hand over children to snuff movie makers. They deliberately avoid finding out who their suppliers are, even though we've seen that XBD editors easily can in previous quests, and they happily defend their suppliers and even enjoy making their snuff videos. Yeah, Gottfrid and son are in no way "just" editors. Killing them isn't going to do anything to stop the XBDs, Maelstrom will just find new editors. There's another quest in the area also with Regina where you have to sneak into a nightclub and plant a virus onto the computers - if you read some of the messages on the computer first there's a chain between the club owner and some maelstrom guy (not Gottfrid or Fredrick) about supplying them kids for snuff XBDs, which would seem to back up their claims of only being involved as editors. I found that mission very late game, and I'd read about it here from earlier in this thread and went in with expectations, but I found little to implicate the father/son directly in the death of the boy, everything about the building backed up their claims that they were editors not creators.ĭon't get me wrong, editing XBDs is supporting the industry which they (especially the son) seem to have no moral issue with, so they are definately scum, so I felt no qualms in robbing them blind and taking the raw footage which would hopefully help the client track down the actual murderers (which would have been a great follow-up quest) and hopefully also point the authorities at them for prosecution, but unless I missed something (very possible!) I didn't see anything that pointed to them being the killers. ![]()
